GREENFIELD INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT

A Greenfield airport refers to an airport that has built from scratch. A project that started in a new area where there was nothing prior to that, that’s either a barren land or land that has been acquired for the purpose of building the new project. The word “Greenfield” originated from software terminology, which means a project lacking any constraints imposed by prior work.

Anantavayu is setting up a colossal Green Field International Airport at Donakonda, Prakasam district, Andhra Pradesh. Spread over 6000 acres of land, the airport shall serve 7 districts of Andhra Pradesh & Telangana. The airport will be located about 8 Kms from Donakonda, 93 km from Ongole, 188 km from Kurnool and Amravati and 196 km from Vijayawada. It is estimated to serve over 3 million passengers per year. The location for the airport has been chosen after thorough investigation, so that it will be able to cover all the 6 districts of AP and 1 of Telangana.

AAL, is determined to establish a new generation Greenfield airport with careful planning and provide world class aviation facilities within the state in accordance with both the Central and State Government’s aviation policies and operate both as a domestic and an international airport. Expansion of the city and increasing its air capacity are the two main goals of AAL and we hope to do so with a deep understanding of global aviation industry and thus effectively manage its air traffic and stimulate urban development on the ground. Andhra Pradesh currently has 7 airports with 3 domestic, 3 international and 1 private. AAL aims to function with both domestic, international flights and also serve luxury charter and also cargo flights. The airport also has the capacity to handle large aircrafts such as Airbus A380 along with executive jets and helicopters. The airport is expected to trigger economic growth throughout the region.
