AEROTROPOLIS SMART & GREEN SATELLITE TOWNSHIP
Airports are now becoming destinations where business flourish, they are their own entities with exceptional features such as upscale restaurants, fast food chains, retail, brand boutiques, entertainment zones, premium lounges etc. There has been a significant amount of growth in non-aeronautical activities within the airports and they are no longer just a place where an aero-plane lands or departs.
Also, airports have become key nodes in global manufacturing and production industries, by offering them speed, agility and connectivity, they are powerful keys in local economic development as they attract aviation linked businesses. This leads to a development of urban transportation corridors with dependent businesses stretching around the airport. This has led to the concept of an Aerotropolis – an airport city.
With its Greenfield international airport and industrial complex in place, AAL shall build an aerotropolis around the airport with a smart satellite township to facilitate convenience for its customers, employees and their families.
An aerotropolis tends to provide convenient lifestyle and business services to the people who live and work there. Apart from residential living, there’s also huge benefit to the businesses located in an aerotropolis, which facilitates the transport of goods and supplies from around the country or abroad, or to clients in other areas.
The township is expected to house over 10,000 people and take the green concept to its core to help sustain the environment and conserve energy. It is being designed in a way that, all its residents and tenants can take advantage of all its latest innovations.
The Aerotropolis will have all the necessary facilities such as Schools, colleges, residential complex, a multi-specialty hospital, shopping malls, amusement parks, and will be well connected by road, rail and air transport. The Aerotropolis and its facilities will be featured with smart amenities such as solar powered street lights, water treatment plants and green zones that help sustain the environment.
