HELIPORT, HELIPAD & UAV/DRONES
With the launch of Regional Connectivity scheme (RCS) and UDAN by Indian government, we are likely to see a surge in the use of helicopters. This is a similar scenario for drones/UAV too.
AAL aims to connect every district of Andhra Pradesh by establishing a hub at each district. Helicopters are seeing a surge in their utilization in various fields such as tourism, mining, emergency rescue services, law enforcement, and as air ambulance, and Emergency Medical Services by Helicopters (HEMS). The pattern for Indian civil helicopter operations is at variance with global indicators, while 29% of world’s civil helicopters are used for HEMS and law enforcement, in India, this use is very rare. AAL aims to break this difference by taking all these benefits a helicopter can offer, into consideration and have at-least one helicopter at each of 13 district hubs in the state of Andhra Pradesh.
AAL intends to operationalize Heliports and Helipads at tourist and business destinations in Consultation with the State Government. There has been a similar approach followed by the Ministry of Tourism in 2015 for the city, Guwahati, Assam; the city would act as a helicopter hub to promote North-East tourism in the country. While that has been an experimental trial, AAL wants to revolutionize that thought by establishing a hub in each district of Andhra Pradesh. These hubs ensure better hinterland connectivity and also trigger economic growth of the state by creating employment opportunities.
Along with helicopters, there has been a lot of scope in the field of drones/UAV. With a surge in commercial utilization along with military applications, drones have their applications in multiple areas such as digital mapping, Infrastructure and engineering; security and surveillance; medical supply delivery; environmental studies and monitoring; entertainment industry etc. AAL hopes to study and investigate drone technologies, and utilize their full scope and also contribute its hand in the field of Drones/UAV.
